The journey starts with the Fool, the naive, young spirit, taking his first steps into the unknown and unexplored. This is a moment in life when you need to take a leap of faith and travel along new paths. Travelling on his way he meets the Magician who strives to enlighten the Fool on the skills and abilities required. With the tools the Magician possesses the Fool can create and make anything in his life.
Continuing his journey the Fool comes upon a beautiful lady the High Priestess. She astonishes the Fool by knowing so much about him and she hands over to him some of her wisdom. Finally, the Fool knows enough that he can now decide what he wants and what he will do. He does suspect that the High Priestess has even more secrets she could tell him, but he is focused and ready to be on his way.
Then he comes upon the Empress. She tells him that anything he desires require fertile soil, patience, love and attention. Understanding at last that his future will take time to build and create, the Fool thanks the Empress and continues on his way.
The Fool approaches the Emperor seated on a throne. From the Emperor he gets advice to be strong willed and create a solid foundation. He also tells him that it is good to be dreamy, creative, patient and a bit naive – but to be in control of his life one must be alert, brave and make decisions based on facts and logic. The Fool heads out with new wisdom, purpose and direction.
Having created a solid foundation on which to build his future, a sudden fear overtook the Fool. What if everything he’s worked for is taken away, stolen, destroyed, lost or just not good enough? There he meets the Hierophant, a wise teacher and holy man. The Fool tells the Hierophant his fears, and asks how he can be free of them. The Hierophant says that even if you don’t overcome the fear and lose all you have built, you still will have the knowledge and experience you gained so far. This pragmatic advice releases the Fool from his fear and he is able to face the world’s challenges once again. The challenges in his life have to be met and dealt with.
The Fool comes to a cross-road, filled with energy and confidence, knowing exactly where he wants to go and what he wants to do. But he comes to a dead stop. He’s met and had relationships with women before. But this one is different. Seeing her, he feels as though he’s just been shot in the heart with Cupid’s arrow. As he speaks with her, the feeling intensifies; like finding a missing part of himself. It is clear that she feels the same about him. But here comes the dilemma and choices to make which the Lovers present.
Then he comes across the Chariot and gets advice that victory can be achieved and he just needs some self-discipline, focus, perseverance and overcome his inner conflict. It is time for movement and change. Here comes in the Strength providing the Fool with insight how to use a reserve of inner strength that will provide you with more power than you realize. Patience combined with courage will bring success and help to achieve the required results. After a long and busy journey where the Fool has been building, creating, loving, hating, fighting, compromising, and succeeding he feels a need to retreat. The Hermit comes forward offering the Fool to take careful thought, contemplation and look for answers within himself. He may need to withdrawal from the outside world for a while in order to reflect. Then, halfway through the journey, he may to reassess his life – Wheel of Fortune. The new chapter and life cycle has commenced in the Fool’s life.
